Description: Findlater Castle, by Cullen, Banffshire coast showing Findlater Castle, lineated Findlater Flags. Findlater Castle is built into a peninsula of vertical to steeply-dipping flaggy striped grey semi-pelites and highly micaceous psammites. A prominent quartzite crops out at the right-hand side of the castle where it forms a subvertical band. There is a prominent south-west dipping intersection lineation. Crathie Point, which marks the incoming of calcareous material in the sequence, is seen in the distance.
