Description: Deeside and Lochnagar from Craigendarroch, Ballater, Aberdeenshire. Craigendarroch (Hill of the Oaks) is underlain by the south-west part of the Ballater Granite which is well exposed as seen in the photograph. Metabasic rocks and Middle Dalradian metasediments occupy the middle distance between the Ballater Granite and the Lochnagar Granite in the background. The Ballater Granite and Lochnagar Granite form part of the Cairngorm suite of igneous plutonic bodies that extend from the Monadhliath pluton in Strathspey to Peterhead.
