Description: River North Esk at the old Suspension Bridge, 1.1 km. NNE of Gannochy Bridge, 3.2 km. NNE of Edzell. Conglomerate of the Lower Old Red Sandstone Series exposed by river erosion in the gorge of the River North Esk on both sides of Gannochy Bridge, north of Edzell, showing gradual decrease in dip from the vertical to the horizontal and in texture from coarse conglomerate to fine sandstone and marls within a distance of a mile and a half, and relatively to distance southwards from the Highland Border fault.
