Description: Pentland Hills. Glencorse Reservoir from the south-west slope of Castlelaw Hill looking towards east end of Glencorse Reservoir and east slope of Turnhouse Hill. The foreground, on Castlelaw Hill is composed of Lower Old Red Sandstone rhyolite. Trachyte occurs on the south side of reservoir. Rullion Green Hill (left of Turnhouse) in basalt. In the far distance view are the Midlothian Coalfield, Cloich Hills and Southern Uplands.
