Good trap features: mainly Craiglockhart and Dunsapie type olivine-basalts on lower slopes with Jedburgh and Markle-type basalts and some mugearites above. Girtley Hill (top left) is composed of trachyte flows. Smoother slopes on right are due to a faulted inlier of Devono-Carboniferous sediments. |
