Caption: View looking north-east across Glen Urquhart from fields west of Craig Mony. Inverness-shire.
Description: The foreground fields lie at the contact between Moine and Old Red Sandstone. On the far side of Glen Urquhart, the lower slopes are formed of kyanite-schists, limestones and siliceous rocks of the Glen Urquhart Complex, while the higher slopes of Craig Achmony (centre of photograph) are entirely in Moine. The forested hill on the extreme right (Creag Nay), together with fields to the left of it, are entirely in Old Red Sandstone. General view of Glen Urquhart Complex an ultrabasic body of serpentinite intruded into semipelites and psammites of the higher units of the Loch Eil Division.
