Description: Duncolm, Kilpatrick Hills. Dumbartonshire. The volcanic plugs Duncolm (left) and Middle Duncolm (right) intruded through early Lower Carboniferous, Clyde Plateau Lava Formation lavas and tuffs. The plugs are composed of macro-porphyritic olivine-basalt of Dunsapie type. The plugs stand about 100 m. higher than the surrounding ground.
