Description: Gartocharn, a house at the east end of the main street viewed from the north. Dumbartonshire. Upper and Lower Devonian sandstones from local quarries have been used as building stones in this house. The house is constructed of local building stone, the window-sills, mullions and three lintels are of purple Lower Devonian sandstone from Gartocharn Quarry. Most of the facing stone and lintel of upper left window are of Upper Devonian red sandstone from Croftamie Quarry.
