Description: | Partan Craig Vent, North Berwick. East Lothian. The vent is one of four large and several small mainly agglomeratic-filled vents that occur along the coast from Eyebroughy to Canty Bay and belong to the Carboniferous Garleton Hills Volcanic Rocks. Contact of the Partan Craig Vent with the surrounding basaltic tuff of the North Berwick Member also of the Garleton Hills Volcanic Rocks occurs on the foreshore. The vent is entirely filled with poorly-bedded reddish-green agglomeratic tuff. The western end of the vent shown in the photograph shows a collapse-synclinal structure. |
