Description: Valley of the River Clyde. Quothquan Gravel Pit. Lanarkshire. Looking north. The flood plain is up to about 350 m. in width across which the river meanders. Valley sides are gently sloping and composed of till on the west and glacial sand and gravel on the east. The gravel pit is now disused and full of water.
