Description: | Glen Valtos, near Uig in west Lewis. Outer Hebrides. The Glen Valtos meltwater channel is a magnificent subglacial channel that carried meltwaters eastwards towards Loch Roag. From here to the easten end at Miavaig the channel is linear (and at its deepest) suggesting fault control. The scree-covered sides have been partly quarried for road aggregate. |
