Description: Near Carrick, north-east Fife. Looking west-north-west. Steep-sided esker ridge of glacial sand and gravel. A section through the esker reveals the deposit to be an ill-sorted sandy gravel containing much cobble and boulder grade material. The high ground in the distance is formed principally of Lower Devonian lavas.
