Description: | North scarp of Lammermuir Hills, east of Springfield Wood. East Lothian. Marginal glacial drainage channel. A view of a glacial drainage channel, taken from the bottom of the channel, looking north-east, in the direction of water-flow. It formed during a standstill of deglaciation when, at the ice margin, there was considerable erosion of glacial-meltwater channels along the Lammermuir foothills. The photograph is taken from the north end of the marginal glacial drainage channel seen in the photograph D03019. |
