Description: View from Stilligarry, South Uist. Outer Hebrides. Hecla (left), Ben Corodale and Beinn Mhor (right). Weakly glaciated summits rising above glaciated slabs. Present evidence suggests that during part of the Late Devensian the climate was severe enough for an ice cap to be established on this relatively low ground. Earlier theories suggest that the ice was a remnant of the extensive Scottish mainland ice-sheet.
