Description: Realstone (formerly Thompson's) Quarry, Wilsford Heath, (also known as Glebe Quarry). Rootlets in the Rutland Formation. Pale grey shelly calcarenite passing down to oyster-rich shale (mostly in shadow) comprise the basal bed of the Clipsham Rhythm of Martin Bradshaw. The bed is 0.6 m. thick here. The underlying iron-stained greenish-grey mudstone is the top bed of the Ketton Rhythm. Vertical carbonaceous rootlets are present throughout but are particularly prominent in the greenish mudstone, being concentrated towards its top (just within the shadow area), suggesting soil development on the surface of the Ketton Rhythm.
