Description: Blackhall Quarry (disused) 1 km. W. of Chipping. Thickly-bedded, sharp-based, medium to coarse grey bioclastic limestones belonging to the lowest part of the Park Style Limestone Member of the Lower Bowland Shale Formation. Some interbedded dark grey shaly mudstone is also present. The limestones have in the past yielded a well preserved fauna of goniatites which indicate that the strata are of late Asbian age.
