Description: Main face of disused quarry, 860 m. ESE of inn at Whitewell (Hall Hill). Clitheroe Limestone: knoll-reef or Waulsortian build-up complex. The upper face comprises pale unbedded micritic wackestone of typical bank facies. This is underlain by thinly-bedded cherty packstone that forms part of the flank facies of a neighbouring bank in a stacked sequence. Thick beds of bioclastic packstone with abundant crinoid debris of probable inter-bank facies.
