Description: North-western face of Arbour Quarry. Brecciated knoll-reef (Waulsortian build-up) limestone in the Clitheroe Limestone Formation showing two generations of micritic wackestone. Fragments of the earlier grey wackestone show refittable edges with adjacent fragments. This suggests possible mechanisms such as shrinkage due to dewatering or partial collapse under loading stress on the slopes of a submarine mound. The interstices are filled with a later generation of paler micrite.
