Description: Borrow-pit dug for the Coventry Eastern Bypass on Walsgrave Hill. Wolston Clay with pockets of flinty gravel (Dunsmore Gravel) piped into upper surface. The Wolston Clay is a glacio-lacustrine deposit consisting of a chocolate brown and grey mottled smooth clay. The Dunsmore Gravel contains pebbles of flint and Bunter quartzite and represents outwash, possibly from the Oadly Till ice.
