Description: Chamberlains Barn Quarry, Joseph Arnold and Sons Ltd., Leighton Buzzard. Trace fossils in 'Silver Sands' division of the Woburn Sands (Lower Cretaceous). The vertical tubular burrows are up to 25 mm. in diameter and 300 mm. in length. They are preserved by secondary iron minerals deposited on the burrow walls. The gentle bedding and burrows suggest deposition in a moderate depth of water in a shelf sea. Height of the section approx 1.2 m. (See also A14468.) Photo by permission of the Company.
