| Description: | Corrennie Quarry, in S. side of A944 at Tillyfourie, E. side of main working beside access cutting. Contact of Corrennie granite with Tillyfourie tonalite. Pale pink Corrennie granite forms lower right-hand half of photo. It is leucocratic, with a foliation marked by drawing out of large quartzes. It becomes finer-grained and more strongly foliated towards the contact. The Tillyfourie tonalite is a dark grey, well foliated hornblende-biotite-tonalite. The foliation is aligned parallel to the contact and may have been rotated. |
