Description: Northern part of Amey's Eartham Pit, Boxgrove Common, near Chichester. Head Gravel and 'channel fill' deposits. The distant worked face shows about 6 m. of angular flint gravel (Head Gravel) overlying chalky 'channel fill' deposits which form the hummocky ground in the foreground. The mound on the right has a core of solid chalk which represents the approximate top of the old cliff line of the upper raised beach of West Sussex, at this locality.
