Description: Gravel-pit (near centre), Sutton Hill (Franklands Gate). Folded Older Fluvioglacial Terrace Deposits, Sutton Hill. Immature, ill-sorted, 'dirty' gravels, with a sand layer, of the Older Fluvioglacial Terrace Deposits. The beds were deposited against standing ice and were slumped and folded as the ice melted. The stoneless, fine-grained sand layer can be seen in the cores of two isoclinal recumbent folds.
