Description: Stoke Edith. Shucknall Hill from the south. View of southern scarp face of Shucknall Hill. Hard calcareous siltstones and limestones of Ludlow age form the wooded part of the hill and are faulted against more freely weathering Raglan Marl siltstones of Downton age which underlie the intervening ground of the Frome Valley. The fault runs approximately along the base of the steep wooded part of the hill. The area underlain by Raglan Marl is intensively farmed.
