Description: Hardham Waterworks, Hardham, 1.2 km. SW of Pulborough Railway Station. Junction of Gault and Folkestone Beds. The Gault consists of homogenous bluish grey clay. It rests on a distinctive local, red, coarse-grained, commonly pebbly, iron-pan developed at the top of the Lower Greensand. The Folkestone Beds comprises fine-, medium- and coarse-grained soft sandstones.
