Description: Cornet's End Gravel Pit, Meriden. Lacustrine sands.The level-bedded ?lacustrine sands are generally clay-bound and in part cemented by ferruginous material. Occasional thin cross-bedded sand units occur; these are cleaner and better sorted and largely incoherent, and these beds have been picked out by Sand martins for nest-holes.
