Description: SE side of road-cutting on A449 (T), 0.7 km. NNW of Ross-on-Wye town centre. Channel-base conglomerate in Brownstones. Bedding - surface view of fallen block of channel-base conglomerate. The rock consists of subrounded to rounded clasts of quartz and Lower Palaeozoic igneous rocks and metasediments together with rounded pebbles of pale green Brownstones mudstone (derived locally and formerly red) in a matrix of coarse red-brown sandstone.
