Description: Disused chalk-pit, S. of Colchester Road, Sudbury. Thanet Beds, Red Crag and Boulder Clay. To the right of photograph A13256 the Thanet Beds are succeeded by Red Crag. Rusty brown, cross-bedded, medium to coarse-grained sands up to 2.5 m. are present. These are capped by boulder clay.
