Description: View looking west towards Sgurr na Lapaich on forestry road near junction of Gleann nam Fiadh and Glen Affric. Inverness-shire. Section through morainic mound. Hummocky morainic drift behind. The section shows that the moraine is a water-washed but poorly-sorted, steeply-dipping sandy diamicton (till) with sandy lenticles, gravel and laminated sand. The attitude of the beds here is thought to be due to deposition on top of a glacier, with subsequent collapse of the sediments when the ice melted.
