Caption: Cutting in A444, Blackdown.
Description: Cutting in A444, Blackdown. Bromsgrove Sandstone. The cutting shows cross-bedded sandstones, with exaggerated foreset dips in parts, underlain by planar-bedded siltstones with sandstone layers and lenses. The latter are ruptured in parts. These are both attributed to current drag, although dewatering may have been responsible for the latter. The overlying wall is also of Bromsgrove Sandstone.
