Description: Beeches Pit, King's Forest, Icklingham, 1.6 km. N. of Lackford Church. Possible interglacial silts exposed in old brick-pit. A series of small sections have been cleared in this old brick-pit exposing the structureless clayey silts containing scattered chalk and flint clasts. In one section Kerney (1976) found an extensive gastropod fauna with a 'Hoxnian' aspect.
