Description: Beddingham. Looking S. South Downs scarp and Vale of the Brooks. View south across alluvium-filled basin of the Brooks towards chalk scarp and Rodmell Cement Works. Middle and Lower Chalk is seen in the large pit on the extreme left. The pit to the centre left exposes Lower Chalk. The low-lying, alluvium covered ground is on Gault in the core of the Beddingham Anticline, the axis of which runs east - west across the field of view between the cement works and the train.
