Caption: | Oblique aerial view of Glen Etive. Inverness-shire. |
Description: | Looking south-west along Glen Etive, from above the mountain rescue post near crags of rhyolite lava intruded by the Cruachan Granite, which forms crags immediately behind. Line of contact approximately follows 'shadow-line' between crags on right-hand side of stream. Stob Dearg on the right and Sron na Creise on the left. The photograph shows the igneous contact between the Cruachan Granite and the Lower Old Red Sandstone volcanic rocks in the Glen Coe cauldron subsidence. |
