Description: | Randley Wood, Telford. Looking N. Priorslee from Randley Wood. Priorslee Furnaces (left background) are built on the side of the Oakengates Glacial Overflow Channel. The village of Dark Lane which lay within the channel has been detroyed and the valley floor is being raised prior to redevelopment. South of Dark lane, in the foreground, the overflow channel splits; the stream which rises north of Dark Lane flows through the branch valley to the right, the Mad Brook rises in the valley to the left. Drift infills all the valleys and the underlying solid strata are Coalport Formation throughout the area of this view; the Priorslee Rock forms the hill feature middle right and that in the foreground. |
