Description: South Cerney. Looking N. Upper Thames Gravels (Northmoor Terrace). Essentially flat-lying limestone gravels of the Northmoor Terrace with overburden of alluvium removed ready for working. The reddish-brown colouration is due to iron-staining. The bedrock of bluish-grey Kellaways Beds is seen in the lower right-hand corner. The maximum thickness of the gravel is about 5.4 m.
