Description: Looking east-north-east across Loch Ness and the Great Glen from the junction of the Caledonian Canal with Loch Ness at Fort Augustus. Hills of Moine psammite in background. The area either side of the canal is a river terrace of the River Oich. The lower slopes opposite are the Glen Buck Pebbly Psammite Formation (of unknown stratigraphical position) while the upper slopes Tarff Banded Formation, interbedded micaceous psammite and pelites.
