Description: The Rock and Spindle sea stack, part of the Kinkell Ness neck, 3 km. east of St. Andrews. Fifeshire. The cliffs on the left consist of tuffs and agglomerates and the stack on the right of vertically bedded tuffs. The circular 'Spindle' is formed of xenolithic, columnar basanite and the stack behind it (the 'Rock') is formed of basanitic breccia.
