Description: Osea Island. Looking W. Shingle spit, East Point, Osea Island. Shingle is banked against saltings, on London Clay, most of the way around the island. In this photograph the shingle appears to indicate movement northwards (right-hand side) from the main channel of the River Blackwater. This shingle spit at East Point measures 300 yards long.
