The area of blown sand gives way to the low cliffs of the Valtos Sandstone Formation, a sandstone containing many impressive carbonate concretions. Bay of Laig and Camas Sgiotaig beyond, with rocks of the Great Estuarine Series, Valtos Sandstone Formation, (Jurassic) below the scarp of the lava plateau of North Eigg.
