Description: | Snettisham Common Sand-pit, Snettisham. Looking W. Detail of junction of Middle and Upper Sandringham Sands. Between Dersingham and Snettisham this junction is marked by a bed of silty clay, up to a few inches thick; seen here resting on the white sands. South of Dersingham the clay is replaced by a silty sand (see A10852 and A10856). Secondary iron-staining occurs irregularly throughout the white sands, in places picking out bedding and cross-bedding. See also A10866. |
