Description: Western shore of Orkney c. 3 m. north-west of Stromness. Qui Ayre. Unconformity of Lower Stromness Flagstones on Yesnaby Sandstone Formation. Cyclically deposited mudstones through sandstones of lacustrine Lower Stromness Flags rest with thin pebbly basal conglomerate on massive cross-bedded sandstone. The difference in angle of dip is clearly shown.
