Description: Lithology of Hunstanton Cliffs. Looking E. The prominent bedding plane at the base of the Chalk, picked out here by the small overhangs, marks the basal Cenomanian unconformity. The Hunstanton Red Rock (Red Chalk) and the Carstone are of Albian age and are near-shore facies of the Gault Clay of other areas.
