Description: Castle of Yesnaby, western shore of Orkney c. 3 m. north-west of Stromness. A sea stack, seen from south shore of Garthna Geo. The stack and cliffs are formed of sandstone with large-scale cross-bedding, which belongs to the Yesnaby Sandstone Formation and is probably of Lower Old Red Sandstone age.
