Description: Top of cliff, 170 yd. W. 20 degrees N. of the summit of Penally Hill. Looking ESE. Refolded folds near Boscastle. Early recumbent isoclinal folding in the upper part of the photograph, trending at 310 degrees, is cut by later ruck folding trending at 230 degrees which is seen just to the right of the centre of the photograph. A stong slaty cleavage is axial to the early folding. The beds affected are black slates, siltstones and thin sandstones of the Crackington Formation.
