Description: View from cliff top on W. side of Tintagel Castle. Looking NE. Faulting of Barras Nose Formation and Upper Delabole Slates. Two main episodes of normal faulting are shown in this photograph. In the first, banded Barras Nose Formation black slates were faulted against the pale coloured Upper Delabole Slates by means of low-angle normal faulting moving from south-east to north-west (right to left on photograph). Later the whole rock mass was subjected to multiple steep normal faults which cut across the junction of black and pale slates. There are two such normal faults on the right of the photograph, and these show slight drag movements in the enclosing slates.
