Description: E. side of Oldbury Hill, 1/2 m. W. of Oldbury, near Ightham. Looking W. Palaeolithic rock shelters; Oldbury Stone. The characteristic but impersistent stone is a grey siliceous sandstone or quartzite which forms a natural roof to the caverns dug into the less massive pink sandrock type of Folkestone Beds below it.
