Description: Viewpoint below River Hill, S. of Sevenoaks. View towards Penshurst from below the Lower Greensand escarpment. The undulating Weald Clay tract in the foreground (on which can be discerned the route for the Sevenoaks By-Pass) is diversified with bands of sandstone and thin limestone. The high ground (Ashdown Forest etc.) in the middle distance is formed by Hastings Beds. The Chalk escarpment of the South Downs is visible in the far distance on the right.
