Description: Near Peppersgate, Crabtree, Lower Beeding, Horsham. Looking SE. Upper Tunbridge Wells escarpment, Pict's Hill. The escarpment in Upper Tunbridge Wells Sand, at 200 ft. O.D. is thrown up beyond a strike fault, which runs just in front of the buildings in the valley. The foreground is in Weald Clay above the Horsham Stone, dipping away from the observer, so that the throw of the fault must be approximately 200 ft. or more.
