Description: The South Downs from the Upper Tunbridge Wells crest at Bolney (at Bolney Park Farm). Looking S. View across the Weald Clay lowland from the crest of the Upper Tunbridge Wells Sand at Bolney, to the South Downs. The dip-slope of the Upper Tunbridge Wells Sand gives place to the ridged lowland (formed by hard bands in the Weald Clay) abruptly one mile south of the viewpoint (290 ft. O.D.). The crests on the Downs left to right, Wolstonbury Hill (677 ft), Newtimber Hill (644ft.), Devil's Dyke (697ft. due south along hay-swath) and Tonleigh Hill (708ft. at right).
