The ridge in the middle distance at right is an escarpment of Horsham Stone (at Woldringfold, TQ 208246) which is cut off, at left by an oblique fault running from behind the ridge at right cutting through it at centre and passing off the view at left in front of the line of the escarpment, so cutting it off. The South Downs form the skyline. |
